Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings are the crispiest glazed wings ever! Done in less than 20 minutes, you'll never make wings another way again!
The air fryer is an appliance that basically takes cooking to another level...an easier and faster method for everything. These Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings not only take a fraction of the time of baking, but they get so crispy you'll think they are fried!
Using the air fryer allows these wings to get super crispy without actually frying them, saving tons of fat and calories. My regular Air Fryer Chicken Wings is the most popular chicken wing recipe on the internet! Once you try this method, you will never cook wings another way.
Serve these with Air Fryer Crab Rangoon, Air Fryer French Fries or One Pot Spicy Thai Noodles for the perfect meal! Want to spice it up? Try these Air Fryer BUFFALO wings or Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings!
Making these Air Fryer sticky wings could not be easier!
How to make Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings:
**scroll down for full ingredients list and printable directions**
- First prep the chicken wings.
- If you have full wings, separate them into drums and flats.
- Make sure they are defrosted.
- Pat them dry completely dry (this will help them get crispy).
- Using a medium sized bowl, add sesame oil, red pepper flakes, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, sriracha, and ginger; mix with a whisk for 30 seconds. Place the wings into the bowl*, then toss to completely coat the wings.
- *Alternatively, use a ziplock bag to place the wings into and then toss with the sauce.
- Place the wings, covered, into the fridge and let marinade at least 30 minutes (up to overnight).
- Preheat the Air Fryer at 350 F degrees for 2 minutes.
- Add the asian chicken wings in a single layer to the air fryer (they should NOT be touching), and cook for 9 minutes at 350 F degrees.
- After the timer goes off, open and carefully flip over the chicken wings. Using the remaining marinade, brush the wings liberally with the sauce.
- Close the air fryer and change temp to 400 degrees F, and cook for 7 minutes. When the time is up check the internal temperate of the wings using a digital thermometer- they should be at least 165 degrees F.
- Remove the chicken wings, and set aside.
- Using the remaining marinade, make a quick glaze: Using a small sauce pot on the stove top, add the left over marinade and heat on HIGH heat. Once it starts boiling, reduce to a simmer.
- Using a small cup, add cornstarch and water, then mix. Pour the slurry into the mixture, bring back to a quick boil, then turn back down to a simmer and cook 5 minutes; stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken up quickly. Remove from heat and brush the sauce over the wings.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds! Serve while hot!
What to serve with Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings:
- One of my most popular recipes, One Pot Spicy Thai Noodles would be perfect alongside these wings!
- Garlic Ginger Spinach would be very tasty with these wings and keep it healthy!
- Serve with a side of corn on the cob - Instant Pot Corn on the Cob or Air Fryer Corn on the Cob is always a hit!
- These easy Asian Glazed Brussels Sprouts would go along very well with the asian wings!
- Or make a Simple Wedge Salad to go with the wings!
- Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries have become one of my favorite side dishes! So much healthier than the fried alternative!
- Or just serve as an appetizer and enjoy!
Can I bake the Chicken Wings?
Yes, however it takes much longer to get them crispy. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and place the wings on a single layer on a baking sheet (place on an oven rack on top of the baking sheet to get crispier). Bake for 30 minutes, then flip and cook another 15-30 minutes depending on desired crispiness.

*If you do not want to use the leftover marinade (although it is okay to do this since we boil it), make another batch of the sauce (same ingredients from sauce above), then make the glaze with the fresh batch.
Beth
Everything about these is perfect. I think this might be the best chicken wing recipe I've seen in a long time.
Sarah
Did these for Super Bowl did not add the glaze. They were still really good. My new favorite
Allyson
SO happy you loved them!!!
Alicia
The sauce on these wings is EVERYTHING! I will never order these at a restaurant again- you have cracked the code!
Jeannine Meador
Going to try these asap but I think there's an error in the recipe or I'm going blind. 🙂 There is no ginger or sriracha sauce mentioned in the recipe card and minced garlic is listed twice. OK...I figure the second one should be the ginger but how much hot sauce. I love your recipes and your AF wings are truly the best I've ever made. My go to recipe! Appreciate if you could clarify this for dum dum's like me. Thanks so much.
Allyson
Jeannine - THANK YOU so much for pointing this out! I totally spaced out apparently when I was typing that yesterday! I just updated the recipe card to reflect the correct ingredients/amounts! You are going to LOOOOVE these wings..maybe even more than the original! Let me know how it goes 🙂
Jeannine Meador
Hooray...going to make these tonight. I do love wings and yours are always so special. I figured like most of us you have a lot going on at the same time...easy to mistype something...I sent my plumber a note about a recipe that I intended to share with my daughter. LOL. It happens. Thanks for taking care of this so quickly...I'll let you know how they turn out!!!
Allyson
You are totally right and yesterday was ONE of THOSE days 🙂 Enjoy the wings!
Anna
My Hubby and I are obsessed with these wings! They cook perfectly in the air fryer! I will be making them again soon.
Betsy
A bit spicy, a bit tangy, absolutely delicious! These are so good! Super easy! Love using the air fryer for these! They taste so incredible.... so, so, SO good! <3 <3 <3
Jennifer
These wings were insane!!! They came out so good! We loved them!
Melissa Tallamy
Can you use an oven instead? What would temp and time be?
Allyson
YES! I am going to add this info to the post. I forgot to include it on this one: It takes much longer to get them crispy. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and place the wings on a single layer on a baking sheet (place on an oven rack on top of the baking sheet to get crispier). Bake for 30 minutes, then flip and cook another 15-30 minutes depending on desired crispiness. Then brush with the glaze when they are done 🙂

Second Recipe using my new AirFryer I got for my 74th Birthday.
Recipe easy to prepare. Flavor was delicious! It was late 8:00pm) so we decided not to fix the sauce. My 79 yr. old husband & I are so excited & impressed with the AIRFRYER ❤️
Jane Bucey
Going to be the 2nd time making these, have been craving them since the 1st time I made them. Could eat these by the bucket full. thank you for a great recipe.
Allyson
I am so happy to hear that! Be sure to checkout my most popular crispy wings too!
Susan
These are fantastic! I initially thought that they were a bit too salty for my tastes...but then gobbled them all up! LOL Thank you for posting! Definitely our go-to Asian wing recipe!
Allyson
LOL! Make sure you use reduced sodium or no salt added soy sauce!
Brandon
So dang delicious! The fact that the flavor was insanely good but it was a breeze to make really sold me on it
Susan
Gets 5 stars from my fam. Usually I make your buffalo wings which are always a hit, but decided to try these last night. You know it's a 10 out of 10 when they say "make those again, mom" 🙂
I don't eat wings so I'll take their word for it. They do crisp up really nice in the AF. I marinated in a bowl for about an hour but next time will do the plastic bag to make sure the drums/flats all get a nice coating. did not glaze until the very end when they were all cooked and ready. Used arrowroot in place of cornstarch and yes, it does heat up quickly for a boil. Thanks for sharing.
Allyson
This sauce is soooo good on EVERYTHING! I am so happy to hear your family enjoyed them!!!
Cynthia
Love this recipe for wings. Just wanted to comment that the exact same recipe is also great for salmon! I cut a fillet into nugget-sized chunks & did everything with recipe the same except reduced cooking time. Awesome!
Allyson
This is going to be my new favorite! THANK you for the suggestion! Been wanting to make salmon bites for a while now!
Adam
I was worried the wings would taste burnt after the second half of cooking but it turned out that was not the case. My only change might be to add more sweetness, but as they are these were still amazing.
Ron
I agree. Next time I’ll double the brown sugar.
Cathy
These were delicious! Thank you.
Have you ever tried this recipe with shrimp in the air fryer?
Allyson
I haven't tried this sauce with shrimp, but I am sure it would be delicious! I would cook the shrimp at 350 for 7 minutes, shaking midway through cooking.
