Air Fryers are essentially rapid cooking ovens. They cook everything quicker, and are great for getting. Of course cooking times do vary based off model and type of air fryer, so you may have to adjust cooking times here and there. Overall, if you don't have an Air fryer, you need to get one (scroll down to see my recommendations). You can also make Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes (recipe here) or Air Fryer Sweet Potato fries
How to Make Baked Potatoes in the Air Fryer:

- Prep the potatoes by washing and drying them thoroughly.
- Add the potatoes to a bowl and drizzle extra virgin olive oil over them. Using your hands, rub the oil into the potatoes. Generously sprinkle course salt and ground black pepper over the potatoes.
- Add the potatoes to the Air Fryer, making sure they are not touching (I could fit 4 large potatoes in my 7qt air fryer). Set the air fryer to 400 degrees and 35 minutes. At the 35 minute mark, test the potatoes but poking with a fork - if the fork does not slide in and out easily, cook for another 5 minutes. Continue until the fork slides in and out of the potato easily.
- My large potatoes were done cooking at 40 minutes in my air fryer. Again, times will vary depending on air fryer model.
- Remove the potatoes carefully and serve as desired.
How to Reheat Air Fryer Baked Potatoes:
If you are prepping potatoes ahead of time, they can easily be reheated in the air fryer. Set the air fryer to 350 degrees F, then add the potatoes and cook for 3-5 minutes. The larger the potatoes, the longer you will need to cook them. Check the potatoes every few minutes to ensure they don't burn.
Meal ideas for Air Fryer Potatoes:

Love this idea! Such an easy way to add a side dish without having to juggle things in the oven.

Looks so good, but stupid question do your pierce them prior ?
Allyson
You do not need to poke the potatoes before cooking them in the air fryer. I have tested many times without doing so. If you want to poke them anyway, go ahead, it wont hurt them 😉

Shouldn't the potatoes be pierced before cooking so they don't explode? Also, use bacon grease instead of olive oil for extra flavor. Yom!
Allyson
In the air fryer you do not need to pierce the potatoes; But, if you want to, it won't hurt them. I've tested it many times without piercing and never had an issue!
Leslie
These are so good! I’ve made them twice in 2 weeks!

New to the air dryer so maybe a dumb question...what rack do you use? Baking pan pizza pan or fry basket?
Allyson
No question is dumb! You don't even need a rack actually. You can put the potatoes directly into the air fryer. If you want to use a rack, I use one like this that lets the air come through. You don't want to block the air flow with the air fryer.
