Air Fryer Kale Chips are the easiest and most delicious Kale Chips! Made in just minutes and super healthy, these will be your go-to snack!
Kale chips have been popular for a long time (maybe 10 years?!), but I can't remember the first time I attempted to make them, but I can tell you that it was a disaster and I never made them again. However, with the air fryer, making them is quick, easy, and they come out perfect every time! These Air Fryer Kale Chips are going to be your new and improved favorite snack!
Using the Air Fryer to make healthy snacks is a must! From Air Fryer Asparagus Fries to Air Fryer Roasted Broccoli, there are lots of healthy air fryer options. The air fryer is a rapid cooking oven that circulates heat very quickly, meaning it takes a much shorter amount of time to cook things compared to the oven. If you don't have an air fryer, I will share my recommendations with you further down this post. But let's talk about Air Fryer Kale Chips and how simple they are to make!
How to make Healthy Air Fryer Kale Chips:
**scroll down for full ingredients list and printable directions**
- Using chopped kale, rinse it off and then pat to dry. Add the kale to a bowl then add olive oil, salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese. Using tongs, mix the kale and make sure the oil is distributed evenly.
- Add the kale to the Air Fryer basket. Close the air fryer and set to 280 degrees, for 6 minutes. After 6 minutes, open and shake the basket, close and set for 2 more minutes. Check the kale after the 2 minutes and if it needs more crispness, add 1-2 more minutes.
- Since all Air Fryer models cook a little bit differently, it's important to check the kale in increments while cooking to prevent from burning or overcooking. You want the kale crispy, but not burnt.
- Remove the chips and snack happy!
Are Kale Chips healthy?
- YES! Using the Air Fryer to make them even cuts down on the oil that is normally used when baking, saving even more fat and calories. Pair these with an air fryer hard boiled egg for the perfect snack or lunch!
- They are also a great source of fiber, with 1 gram per serving.
- Other vitamins include calcium, iron and potassium.
- They fit into KETO, PALEO, Whole30, Vegetarian, and Vegan (leave the parmesan cheese off) diets as well.
- Besides these vitamins, the nutrients in cooked kale include high amounts of B vitamins, vitamin A and vitamin C!
- This recipe has 4 servings and per serving there are 63 calories, 5g fat, 5g carbohydrates, 2g fiber, 1g sugar, and 2g protein.
How to Store Kale Chips:
Place in an air tight container and at room temperature. Will keep for 1 day and then will wilt. Can reheat for 2 minutes int he air fryer to get the crisp texture back!
