- Get the ingredients together, hot sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot) and butter.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan or in the microwave.
- Combine melted butter and hot sauce in a small bowl. Whisk well until completely blended together.
- Store in a sealed container.

How long does Homemade Buffalo Sauce Last?
The sauce should stay fresh for 1 month as long as it's in a sealed container and refrigerated. Shake it well to remix before using.

You alter the heat level by adjusting the ratio of butter to hot sauce. I usually melt the butter, then add the hot sauce, until I achieve the heat level I want, as it will vary with the brand.
I sometimes add other ingredients, like black pepper and/or finely minced garlic.

This is a GREAT recipe!!! My mom always used it however if you like garlic like my family…her secret was to add lots (to your taste) of minced fresh garlic to the butter as it is melting then add the Frank’s Hot Sauce (not the wing sauce) and whisk or stir in well! Yummy yummy!
