With only 2 ingredients and taking a fraction of the typical time, this Air Fryer Roasted Asparagus will be your favorite way to cook asparagus from now on!
Roasted Asparagus is a very healthy and delicious side dish for dinner, lunch, or breakfast! It only takes about 20 minutes to roast in the oven, however using an Air Fryer cuts down the time dramatically. In seven minutes the asparagus is lightly crispy on the ends, yet perfectly tender and ready to eat. It never turns out soggy and always has the perfect bite to it! Serve this alongside this Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan for the perfect meal!
Using the air fryer to make Air Fryer Asparagus Fries, Roasted Parmesan Brussels Sprouts, Air Fryer Zucchini fries, Air Fryer Butternut Squash, and Roasted Broccoli is also so quick and delicious! This Air Fryer Roasted Asparagus will be your new favorite side dish!
I am a big fan of the Air Fryer for many reasons; it’s so easy to use, the cleanup is so quick and minimal, and it cooks SO FAST compared to a traditional oven. It also uses WAY less oil compared to actual frying. If you haven’t purchased an Air Fryer yet, I HIGHLY recommend it (see my recommendations below)!
Making this Air Fryer Roasted Asparagus is so easy! Most likely you’ll just need to purchase asparagus, and then will need olive oil, salt, and pepper, which I bet is already in the pantry!

Asparagus in airfryer says
First I’d like to thank you to inspiring me by your wonderful recipes, especially this one asparagus is my favorite lunch meal, I have one question to you please:
How do you know when asparagus goes bad?
Oven case.
Allyson says
I hope you love the recipe! Here is how you know when asparagus goes bad! It is the tips of asparagus they will begin to go bad first, which is also the most desirable part of the asparagus. The best way to tell if your asparagus is going bad is to look at the tips, they will begin to turn a very dark green (almost black) and when you touch them they will just mush between your fingers.
TODDLERSNACK says
Thank you, that really helps a lot.
Kerry says
I added halved grape tomatoes. And after the 7 minutes sprinkled shredded parm cheese and put back in for one minute to melt it was amazing!
Wendy Rhodes says
When I was a kid growing up in Cali my Mom would roast asparagus and serve it with mayo as a dipping sauce. I love the taste and texture of roasted anything but being August in Texas means I avoid turning on my oven, or even my stove top, at all costs. Air Frying is relatively new to me. As I slowly try new recipes, I pin them to my “Air Fryer Recipes That Worked For Me” board and this recipe is most definitely going there. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful and easy recipe!
Allyson says

Delicious! Now I have to buy one for myself!
Cin says
Can we make using the frozen asparagus spears? Thinking we need to steam and just reduce the air fryer time, right?
Allyson says
You can try that, but they might be a little soggy. There is a lot of water in frozen asparagus, but it’s worth a try.

What school did you attend?
There are 4 ingredients in this
It’s also not a recipe
It’s basic cooking for asparagus
Allyson says
Aren’t you a fun one! I attended the University of California Berkeley, you? If you were a professional recipe developer, you would know that salt and pepper are not considered ‘ingredients’, but alas, I guess you aren’t, or you wouldn’t be looking for such a basic recipe online! Thank you for taking the time out of your obviously busy day to leave such a helpful comment! Cheers!
