Loaded with caramel, apples, and delicious brown sugar, this Apple Monkey Bread is going to be everyone’s favorite fall treat! Serve it up for breakfast or dessert!
Now that we are full swing into fall, I am always trying to find new recipes to incorporate my favorite ‘fall’ fruit- apples. I decided to whip up this mouthwatering Apple Monkey Bread, and I am SO glad I did, because it’s literally the best breakfast/brunch/dessert I’ve ever had!
Now, I won’t say this is a completely new recipe, because for years me and my family have been making regular monkey bread. Sometimes I like to drizzle a little caramel on it, and we always put glaze on it, but adding the apples to the recipe to make caramel apple monkey bread was new. It’s also the ONLY way I will make monkey bread from now on, because it’s so delicious. Just thinking about making this brings awesome memories to me, because it’s definitely turned into a family tradition of sorts. We typically make monkey bread in the fall, and my boys love helping to make it and love eating it!
Putting the recipe together is easy; basically a handful of ingredients all mixed together, topped with some juicy butter and then baked to golden perfection. Then you top the sticky bread with caramel sauce and glaze and BOOM- Caramel Apple Monkey Bread is born.
I really enjoy ripping the Caramel Apple Monkey Bread apart with my hands, but if you want to be less messy, you can also serve it on a plate. It’s majorly delicious either way!
- 2 cans biscuits
- 1 can fried apples or 3 apples chopped with 2 TSP cinnamon
- 1/2 cup Cinnamon Sugar (make your own - 1/2 cup white sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon)
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp apple juice or milk
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce (optional, but needed!)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a bundt pan with nonstick spray and set aside.
Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and place into bundt pan. Add apples to dough and mix with a spatula.
In a bowl combine 1/2 cup white sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon (or use pre-mixed cinnamon sugar). Sprinkle mixture over the top of the dough/apples, and stir to coat.
In a small bowl combine melted butter and brown sugar; stir to combine. Pour mixture over the top of the monkey bread and spread over the top.
Cover the bread loosely with foil, place into the oven. Bake 35 minutes, remove foil and bake 15-20 additional minutes or until the center is no longer doughy. Remove from oven and set aside, allowing to cool for 10-15 minutes. Invert bundt pan on a serving platter and allow monkey bread to come out.
In a small bowl mix powdered sugar and apple juice. Drizzle the glaze over the top of the bread, then drizzle the caramel sauce over the bread.
Serve immediately! Pull apart to eat or spoon servings onto plates to enjoy!
