Making quiche is considered easy for several reasons:

  1. Simple Ingredients: The basic quiche recipe requires straightforward ingredients that are easily accessible in most kitchens: eggs, milk or cream, cheese, vegetables, and a pie crust. You can adapt the fillings based on what you have available or your taste preferences.
  2. Few Steps: Quiche preparation typically involves a few simple steps. You pre-bake the crust, prepare the fillings, whisk together the custard, combine everything in the crust, and then bake. The process is relatively straightforward and doesn't involve complex techniques.
  3. Make Ahead: Quiches are great for meal planning or when you need to prepare food in advance. You can make the quiche a day ahead and refrigerate it until ready to bake.
  4. Leftovers: Quiche leftovers can be easily reheated and enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner on subsequent days. This not only saves time but also reduces food waste.
  5. Adaptable to Dietary Restrictions: Quiches can be adapted to suit different dietary needs. You can make crustless quiches for a gluten-free option or use dairy alternatives for a lactose-free version.

Overall, making quiche is easy due to its simple ingredients, uncomplicated steps, flexibility, make-ahead capability, versatility, and the ability to create a satisfying and visually appealing dish with minimal effort. It's an excellent recipe for home cooks of all levels of experience.

Spinach quiche can be served as a complete one-dish meal. It contains protein from eggs, various nutrients from the fillings, and carbohydrates from the crust, making it a satisfying and balanced option for dinner. However, these are some options to serve alongside the quiche:

What to serve with the spinach quiche:

  • Air Fryer Roasted Carrots (easy side dish)
  • Simple Wedge Salad
  • Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Can I make the quiche ahead of time and freeze?

Yes. To preserve the quiche for later, first, allow the baked quiche to cool entirely. Once cooled, wrap it tightly with plastic wrap, and then add an additional layer of aluminum foil to provide extra protection. Store the wrapped quiche in the freezer for up to 3 months.

To reheat from frozen: When you're ready to enjoy the frozen quiche, remove from the freezer and thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Once thawed, proceed to bake the quiche uncovered at 350°F for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, until it's heated through and reaches the desired serving temperature. This process will restore the quiche's delicious taste and texture, making it ready to savor once again.
