It's easy to make these so let me share how...
Ingredients for Bloody Band-Aid Cookies:
**scroll down for full ingredients list and printable directions**
- Vanilla Wafer Cookies - these are the crispy cookies found in a package. Do not mistake these with vanilla wafers that are used for banana pudding.
- white icing - you can use the pre-packed icing or scoop some from a tub and into a little bag to pipe it onto the cookies.
- red jelly or jam (any flavor) - this will be used as the 'blood' on the cookies. Alternatively you can use red gel icing, but I think the jelly looks more realistic.

How to make the Bloody Band-Aid Cookies:
**scroll down for full ingredients list and printable directions**
- Using a fine grater or zester, carefully shave the corners of the wafers into a band-aid shape. This is optional, and you can use them in their rectangle shape as well.
- Using the icing, make a little square patch in the middle of the cookie.

- Using a toothpick, dab it into the jelly and then place it into the middle of the white square for the 'blood.'

- Repeat for all of the cookies. Add to a serving tray and serve fresh!

This is the easiest Halloween treat because it's only 3 ingredients and they are done so quickly! They also taste great!
How to store: Add these cookies in a single layer to a sealable container. Make sure the lid or wrap you use to cover the cookies, doesn't touch the tops of them or else the icing/jelly might get messed up.

Fun tip: Let the kids help with these! After you grate the edges, let them do the toppings! The bloody band-aid cookies are nearly impossible to mess up, and this is a kid friendly recipe!

The shortbread cookies stayed nice and crisp, and the little "gauze pad" made from white icing really completes the band-aid look. Best of all, they taste delicious despite their spooky appearance - the buttery cookie base pairs perfectly with the sweet icing.

I am making the bandaid cookies tonight to take to work tomorrow. What’s the best way to store overnight?
