- Saltine crackers (club crackers, ritz crackers, pretzels, and graham crackers will all work but have a different flavor)
- unsalted butter (you don't want double salted crackers and salted butter)
- brown sugar
- white melting chocolate (almond bark or baking chips work better than white chocolate chips)
- Toppings: dried cranberries, peanuts (or your choice of nuts).

- Get all of the ingredients together for the Christmas crack because it's a fast moving recipe. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- On a large baking sheet, lay out foil or parchment and then cover the top in a single layer of saltine crackers.

- In a sauce pan, melt the butter over medium heat and then add the brown sugar. Bring to a quick boil and then whisk continuously boiling for about 3 minutes, until it develops a deeper brown color.
- The temperature will reach 270 degrees F to 290 degrees F. Make sure to bring the temperature at least this high or it will not harden over the crackers.

- Pour the mixture over the saltine crackers and spread evenly. Place the baking sheet into the pre-heated oven and bake for 5 minutes.
- Melt the white chocolate: Heat in microwave safe bowl in 20-30 second increments, stirring between to help melt and not burn. Once melted, set aside
- Remove crackers from the oven and pour the melted chocolate over the top of the saltine crackers, reserving about ¼ cup on the side. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly over the top.

- Sprinkle dried cranberries and nuts over the top of the melted chocolate and lightly press down. Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the top. Place into the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight to harden.

- Break or 'crack' apart the white chocolate cranberry Christmas crack into bite-sized pieces and enjoy!
How to store Christmas Crack:
Store the saltine cracker toffee in a sealed bag or container.
- Store in refrigerator up to 2 weeks
- Store room temperature for up to 7 days (crackers will start to get stale or soggy).
- Store in the freezer for up to 4 months.

This Christmas Crack makes a great gift and EVERYONE loves receiving it! Add the candy to a food safe cellophane bag and seal with a nice ribbon and tag!

YES! As I said in the post you can use other crackers, "club crackers, ritz crackers, pretzels, and graham crackers will all work but have a different flavor" This one would be yummy with pretzels!
