Christmas Crack aka saltine cracker toffee is a traditional holiday recipe, and this one is festive with red and green M&M's! This tasty treat is perfect for dessert or gifts!

This holiday staple comes together in under 10 minutes, and then after it hardens it's ready to eat! Once you start eating it you will NOT be able to stop, it's THAT good! The crunchy combo of this nutty M&M Christmas Crack is amazing!
I've had the traditional Christmas crack recipe go viral several times on Instagram and TikTok, which is a great option as well! I've also shared a White Chocolate Cranberry variation and a Mint Chocolate Christmas Crack variation and they are both super tasty, too!

Most of the ingredients are probably already in your pantry, but this is what you need...
Ingredients for M&M Christmas Crack:
**scroll down for full ingredients list and printable directions**
- Saltine crackers (club crackers, ritz crackers, pretzels, and graham crackers will all work but have a different flavor)
- unsalted butter (you don't want double salted crackers and salted butter)
- brown sugar
- milk chocolate (chocolate bark or chocolate chips)
- Toppings: red and green M&M candies and peanuts (or nuts of your choice)
How to make it:
- Get all of the ingredients together for the Christmas crack because it's a fast moving recipe. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- On a large baking sheet, lay out foil or parchment and then cover the top in a single layer of saltine crackers.

- In a sauce pan, melt the butter over medium heat and then add the brown sugar. Bring to a quick boil and then whisk continuously boiling for about 3 minutes, until it develops a deeper brown color.
- The temperature will reach 270 degrees F to 290 degrees F. Make sure to bring the temperature at least this high or it will not harden over the crackers

- Pour the mixture over the saltine crackers and spread evenly. Place the baking sheet into the pre-heated oven and bake for 5 minutes. Turn off the oven.
- Remove crackers from the oven and add the chocolate chips over the top of the saltine crackers. Place back in the oven for a minute to soften them and remove. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly over the top.

- Add the chopped M&M chocolate pieces and chopped nuts over the top. Place in the fridge or freezer for at least a few hours; ideally overnight.

- Break or 'crack' apart the M&M Christmas crack into bite-sized pieces and enjoy!

How to store M&M Christmas Crack:
Store the saltine cracker toffee in a sealed bag or container.
- Store in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
- Store room temperature for up to 7 days (crackers will start to get stale or soggy).
- Store in the freezer for up to 4 months.

This Christmas Crack makes a great gift and EVERYONE loves receiving it! Add the candy to a food safe cellophane bag and seal with a nice ribbon and tag!
