Making onions in the air fryer is super quick and easy. These are great for so many different recipes and meals, including this delicious French Onion Grilled Cheese or this Mushroom & Goat Cheese Flatbread! The best part is they are done in less than 15 minutes with hardly any effort!

How to make sautéed onions in the air fryer:

- First, prepare the onions: Chop the ends off the onion, then cut in half and remove the skin. Slice the onion making half moon shapes with the slices.

- Add the sliced onions to the air fryer basket. Add olive oil, salt, pepper, and any other seasoning you prefer. Toss to coat the onions.
- Close the air fryer and set to 380 degrees and cook for 8 minutes.
- Open the air fryer and shake the onions around to mix. Close and cook for 6-7 more minutes at 380 degrees.
- Open the air fryer and carefully remove the onions. Serve immediately!

Tips for making the onions:
- For carmalized onions, use a yellow onions because they develop a sweet flavor. Vidalia onions are always a great choice.
- Want onions that are deeper in flavor and color? Add a few more minutes when cooking the sautéed onions.
How to store the onions: Keep in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days. The onions tend to get slimy after that.

- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
