You and your kids are going to love these!” player-type=”default” override-embed=”default”]I have a slight obsession with Honey Bunches of Oats® cereal, and I’ve posted a couple of recipes already which use the delicious cereal. This one is a little different, and is essentially a homemade no bake granola bar, but since there is no granola in the bar, I am calling it a cereal bar! This recipe is SO easy, affordable, and super delicious! Your kids will LOVE these, and you will be grabbing them when you are hungry and on the go!

Honey Bunches of Oats® cereal is versatile and can be used in tons of different recipes. It keeps my life simple, especially around the holidays when things are CRAZY! On my holiday to-do list, is check out the new movie, SING©, have you heard of it? It’s a fun animated movie and the soundtrack sounds amazing! I can’t wait to head to the movies on December 21st with my kiddos and enjoy it! There is a Fun-Trivia game on their website right now, and you get to find out which star character from the movie you most resemble! How fun is that?!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cereal Bars
Ingredients
  • 3 cups Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal with Almonds
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl combine cereal, oats, coconut, and chocolate chips; set aside.

  2. In a small sauce pot, add honey and brown sugar, and bring to a boil. Whisk until combined, and then add the vanilla; stir. Simmer for about 1 minute. Add peanut butter, and turn heat to low. Whisk in peanut butter until completely melted and combined.

  3. Pour into the cereal mixture and mix well until completely incorporated.

  4. Use a large 9x13 baking dish lined with parchment or wax paper, dump the cereal mixture and then spread into an even layer.

  5. Place into fridge and let set for at least 4 hours. Remove from fridge, and remove from dish by pulling up on the sides of the parchment paper, laying it onto your counter. Using a large knife, cut into rectangle bars. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes
