Sliders are a great way to make a bulk recipe without a lot of hassle. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or a quick family dinner! These Caprese Sliders come together in a few easy steps, have delicious fresh ingredients, and are majorly delicious!

Caprese Sliders are filled with tomatoes, mozzarella, basil & pesto for the perfect bite! Easy to make and they are super fresh and delicious!

For these caprese sliders you only need a few ingredients – rolls, pesto, basil leaves, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and butter; so simple!

How to make Caprese Sliders:

  • First prep all of the ingredients. Preheat the oven and grease a baking dish.
  • Assemble the sliders:
    • bottom half of the rolls into the baking dish, add pesto and spread it evenly over the rolls.
    • Add a slice of mozzarella to each roll (about 15), then a slice of tomato, then 1-2 basil leaves depending on size. Place the top half of the rolls on top.
    • Combine melted butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and poppy seeds, and mix. Drizzle over the tops of the rolls, using a brush or back of spoon to distribute.
  • Cook: Cover the baking dish with foil, then place into oven.

The tops and bottoms of these get nice and toasted from the cheese/butter drizzle, and it makes it perfect for picking them up. A quick finger food, and it’s really not messy either. Love these!

Ingredients
  • 15 Hawaiian slider rolls like a sandwich, cut in half
  • 16 ounces fresh Mozzarella Cheese sliced into 15 slices
  • 4-5 roma tomatoes sliced into 15 slices
  • 15-20 fresh basil leaves
  • ¼ cup prepared pesto
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 TBS grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon poppy seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • non-stick spray
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. In a large baking dish sprayed with non-stick spray, place the bottom halves of the rolls into the dish. Add pesto and spread it evenly over the rolls. Add a slice of mozzarella to each roll (about 15), then a slice of tomato, then 1-2 basil leaves depending on size. Place the tops of the rolls on top.

  3. In a small bowl combine melted butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and poppy seeds, mix with a fork or whisk to combine. Drizzle over the tops of the rolls, using a brush or back of spoon to distribute.

  4. Cover the baking dish with foil, then place into oven. Cook for 10 minutes. Carefully remove foil and place back into oven for 3-5 minutes, or until tops are lightly toasted and you can see cheese is melted.

  5. Use a spatula to remove the sliders and serve immediately.

    This was so delicious! And a wonderful way to use up tomatoes from the garden! I must confess...if you aren't vegetarian, it's a great dish to add some rotisserie chicken to! These were also super tasty for lunch the next day!

      I wouldn't. I find slider buns tend to get soggy if left made for a while. You could prepare all the ingredients the day before and then assemble and cook when needed.
