The Pillow Dilemma....SOLVED!

Well, after much indecisiveness, I finally came to a decision about which pillows I wanted to order.  I ended up finding a local gal on Etsy, and she had pillows that looked perfect.  I was having a hard time deciding which patterns to go with though (as you know), and I finally decided on some geometric diamonds and an ikat pattern.  I was shocked when I walked into JoAnn's and found the same fabric! I just decided to make them myself...how hard could it be?!  Let me tell you...I am now obsessed with ikat print.  Ikat, where have you been all my life?!  I am going to make an ottoman out of a lovely ikat print as well, but I will talk more about that later.

Anyway, so like I was saying, I made the first set of pillows and then I ended up finding a great Ikat print at Hobby Lobby.  I decided to just wing it and make 2 more pillows myself.  Shockingly, they turned out pretty well.  God thing my mom taught me how to sew back when I was a wee one.  I was pretty satisfied, especially because the fabric was only $6.50 per yard, and I got 2 pillows out of it.  So, those are some pretty frugal pillows!  I won't keep you waiting any longer....

excuse my messy table, I am finishing another project as well...

What do you think?  Which print is your favorite?

Oh I haven't used a sewing machine since 7th grade, but have been getting lots of pressure from my Crafty Collaborative gals.

I know, I am at that point too! I haven't made anything since like...idk, maybe 9th grade. But I just felt like, you know, I can do it!! I didn't want to spend so much on all the pillows, and it was totally worth it. Maybe they aren't perfect, but I don't care! I am happy!

    Awesome job on the pillows!

I'm not a huge ikat fan myself, so I like the diamonds the best 😉 I like the way all of the patterns coordinate but aren't too matchy, though!

omg! ikat hater?! How can that be?!?! I am debating how to upholster an ottoman, and I am thinking ikat, but idk...might be too much. I was looking at a chevron pattern that had an ikat twist to it....idk!

I know, I'm just not sane apparently :/ Maybe it'll grow on me? I don't necessarily hate it, but it's not my style.

Picking decor is always hard! So many choices!!

Yes, it is from Ikea. It's called the Ektorp. I had my heart set on a different one, but seeing this one in person sealed the deal for me. I love the sgade of grey and the linen like texture of the fabric. I am going to do ikat curtains too!!! What fabric are you thinking of using?

Yes, I like the Ektorp and I like that grey! As far as my curtains go I am having a hard time finding the right fabric. The blues are just a little off. I don't like matchy matchy but I also don't like clashy clashy. How about you? Where are you shopping for them also?

Not only do I LOVE your pillows but I would also like to know where you purchased your couch from...it looks so comfy and isn't gigantic like most sectionals! Thanks for the info!

Thanks, Ashley! I searched high and low for the perfect sectional to fit in our awkward living room.....and after 9 months I found it at Ikea! This is the Ektorp sections in grey. It isn't too big, like most sectionals, and it is super comfy. I also love the fact that you can buy different covers for it, so if we get sick of the grey, we can buy white or black or whatever!
