This is another one of those projects that I made years ago, and never got around to posting. I was always taking pictures of it over the holidays, but then January would come around and of course I wouldn’t need to share this after Christmas! So, I am excited that I can finally share this fun craft. A Clothespin Holiday Card Wreath is really easy and fun to make, and it’s a fun way to display your holiday cards! Kids are happy to help – they can paint the clothespins and string them onto the wire!
You only need a handful of supplies for this project-
-
Clothespins (check the dollar store!)
-
red and green craft paint or spray paint
-
white plastic beads
-
a wire hanger
-
ribbon for hanging
-
Paint half of your clothespins red and the other half green. Let them dry.
-
Untwist your hanger, opening it up and then shaping it into a circle.
-
String your clothespins onto the hanger, alternating clothespin colors and putting a bead between them.
-
Once your hanger is full, twist it together at the top, and add your ribbon. You want some hang from the ribbon so you can hang it from the wall. Use a thumbtack or small nail to hang it on the wall!
Isn’t that easy?! Little hands love helping with this project! If you don’t want to take the time to paint each clothespin, I have heard about people using RIT dye to dye them! Then you could do a whole batch at once, and it would be SUPER fast! I love that idea!
