I love wrapping gifts come the holidays, but I am just not that fancy bow type of wrapper. I like to come up with creative ways to wrap, but also not spend a lot of money. I really feel bad spending a lot of money on wrapping stuff that just ends up in the trash! I know, most people recycle and reuse bows, ribbons, and gift bags, but still, it’s a lot of waste and it’s a lot of money for something that just gets torn open! A few years ago, I started wrapping with brown Kraft Paper , which I LOVE! I ordered a HUGE roll from Amazon a few years ago, and I STILL have some left. I use it for everything too. When I have to paint in the garage, I lay it on the floor. When my son is playing with play-doh, I lay it on the table. My point is, it comes in handy for everything. It’s SO cheap, and it’s recycled paper, which I love. With the Kraft paper and some other supplies, I was able to do really cheap and easy DIY holiday wrapping, without breaking the bank.
I just use the Kraft Paper, and then wrap some bakers twine around it. Baker's twine
comes in all different colors, but I really like the classic red and white
style. Then, I print out all the free holiday tag printables I want, and affix them to the packages! I love this particular style of the printables, because I think the gifts look like little parcels! They have little ‘stamps’ and tags on them- so cute!
With all of them under the tree they look so cute!
So, all in all, I spent $33 on the paper, and $8 on the twine. That means just over $40 for wrapping stuff and I have used it the last 2 years, and for various other things as well! I would say that’s pretty thrifty, and both the paper and the twine are great investments because you will use them for other things as well!
Love it!
