Three Berry Shortcake Skewer are the perfect last minute, easy, and delicious dessert! Take them to a potluck, holiday party (hello 4th of July), work party, or make them for the kids – everyone will LOVE them! They come together no time, have minimal ingredients, and are majorly delicious!

Putting the three berry shortcake skewers together couldn’t be easier! All you need is berries, pound cake (or angel food cake works too), Alessi Raspberry Infused White Balsamic Reduction (or homemade balsamic reduction), and whipped cream – simple.

How to make Three Berry Shortcake Skewers:

**scroll down for full printable directions and ingredient list**

  • Stack your berries onto your skewers and add some cake in between (feel free to use this pound cake recipe).
  • When you have all the three berry shortcake skewers put together, drizzle the Alessi Raspberry Infused White Balsamic Reduction over the top – it’s sooooo good! Alternatively you can make your own:
    • In a small saucepan, place 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar and 5 tsp sugar. Heat over medium-low heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Bring to a simmer and simmer until the vinegar is reduced to 3 to 4 tablespoons, is the consistency of warmed honey, and has a rich, caramelized sweet-tart flavor, about 10 minutes.
  • Top with whipped cream (homemade or store bought, you chose!) and enjoy!

Using this balsamic reduction on the skewers is so delicious because it’s a sweet syrup that and adds the perfect flavor pop. If you make the reduction at home (see above for directions), it will last about 2 weeks in the fridge.

How to serve Three Berry Shortcake Skewers:

  • I really like serving the skewers alongside a bowl so that people have the option to put everything into the bowl. Once you slide everything into the bowl you can add a bit of whipped cream to the top, and add a little more Balsamic Reduction, yum!
  • Alternatively, if you are like my kids, you can leave everything on the skewer and dip it into the whipped cream – there is no wrong way to eat these!

Three Berry Shortcake Skewers are stacked with delicious juicy berries and pound cake, then drizzled with a sweet balsamic reduction and topped with whipped cream!

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Servings: 10 skewers
Ingredients
  • 1 cup raspberries (about 1 containers)
  • 1 cup blueberries (about 1 containers)
  • 1 cup blackberries (about 1 containers)
  • 1 small pound cake, cut into cubes
  • Alessi Raspberry Infused White Balsamic Reduction,
  • whipped cream, for garnish
Instructions
  1. Using wooden skewers, alternate berries and pound cake while sliding them on the skewer. Repeat until skewer is filled. Repeat for all berries/skewers.

  2. Drizzle Alessi Raspberry Infused White Balsamic Reduction (see below on how to make homemade) over the top of the skewers. Serve either in a bowl, or on skewer with whipped cream on the side for dipping.

Recipe Notes

Making homemade balsamic reduction is easy. Here's how to do it:

  • In a small saucepan, place 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar and 5 tsp sugar. Heat over medium-low heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Bring to a simmer and simmer until the vinegar is reduced to 3 to 4 tablespoons, is the consistency of warmed honey, and has a rich, caramelized sweet-tart flavor, about 10 minutes.
