The Pillow Dilemma

I am excited to announce that we finally found a couch for our living room!  The space is a little awkward with how the windows/kitchen bar/doorways are set up, so it's been hard to find something that fits the space, and isn't too big.  Also, I have been in love with the idea of finding a grey couch, and having a grey/white/yellow color scheme to our living room.  Well, after 5 months of looking, we finally decided on a sectional couch.  Here it is:

It is perfect for the space we have, and I love the shade of grey and the fabric.  Some people advised against getting a sectional because you can't always move it around, but with the space we have, there aren't many options on how to configure the living room, so it will likely stay in the same place anyway.

Anyway, now I am thinking about what kinds of pillows we can get to top the lovely couch.  I want to stay in the yellow/grey/white color scheme, and I have been browsing Etsy for some like that.  WOW...there are A LOT!  Apparently yellow/grey is the in combination and there are lots of different fabric options...lets see what we have....

I love these, but think maybe it would be hard to match a rug etc to them? What do you think?
This is the mother ship of all patterns!

Above, I REALLY love #5 with the geometric diamonds, and also #14.

#5, a closer look

I have seen some matching patterns to #14 in white/grey/yellow, so maybe I could do a mixture of all those?

See #2 here matches the other yellow #14
Or maybe something geometric like this, in greys and yellows?

What do you think?  Which pillows would you put on this grey sectional?

Love it! I would have never thought of a gray couch but it's perfect. I love number 4 and 9 but all of them are great patterns.

I love this color scheme! I'm a big fan of the chevron patterns, like #9 in both of the collage images. Any of them are beautiful though! If you're realllllly bold, a white rug would look beautiful! Not sure if you have kids or pets (or husband??) that might make it impossible to keep a white rug clean though. Happy decorating! 🙂

I love the idea of a crisp white rug, especially because or wood floors are espresso color.....but I do have a toddler and a husband, so as of this moment, its probably not the wisest of choices! I also love the chevron. I didn't post it, but I saw a really nice fabric with grey/yellow/white striped chevron!

I hear you on the children & white! It's more of a "dream home" look that's not very practical. Shoot, even if I lived by myself, I wouldn't be able to keep a white rug clean! 😉

I love your new sectional and the color grey too. I also like that you are thinking of adding the yellow as a splash of color in to your room. Like you, I like #5 , #10 and the grey geometrical is very nice too! Your colors will look nice in spring, summer, fall and winter! Can't wait to see what you decide and if you can post a pic later on to see the final resutl! 🙂

This is my favorite color scheme. My husband is not a fan of yellow, though, and told me it's the only color I couldn't use while decorating. So, I guess I'll live vicariously through you 😉

I like the 14/2 combination you were talking about (or, it could just be 2/5 on the second set) I'm also a HUGE fan of damask prints. So, I think 12 from the first one is very pretty.

I think #4 on the first one is super adorable! Ahhh too many choices!

Looking at the first picture of the pillows, I would use #5 with #14 or #15 (or even all three)! I tend to use the squink-your-eyes technique when looking at different designs to decide. Just saying ... ex. w/b if you look @ #5 & squint you see that there's a lot of off-wht.(?) between the grey & yellow, then the darker grey shows up. I then w/tend to go w/an accent pillow w/an over-all accent color of the yellow. Thats just how I do it, I'm sure there's another better way-anyone want to share their way? Thanks!

I have the fabric in the diamonds pattern but in orange/brown on some pillows and drapes:http://kraftykat76.blogspot.com/2012/08/no-sew-drapes-with-rod-pockets.html
I have since added some more coordinating throw pillows and other accessories but no pics yet. Love that sofa!
