Hello! Before we 'jump right in', here are a few facts about me.
I’m a no-pattern-sewing, eye-ball-it-crafting, shortcut-recipe-making kind of girl. I don’t like to spend too much time on complicated recipes & patterns. I live in Southern AZ with my husband of 22+ years and three of our five children. When I grow up, I want to travel to foreign lands and capture it with my growing photography skills. I have awesome readers and love to engage with them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & G+.
This Black and Blue Berry Vanilla Protein Smoothie is perfect for busy mornings when you just can't seem to get out of the door on time!
It's almost unbelievable to me how fast summer has come and gone. Here in Arizona, school is just about to start- we're talking next week. I'm sad to see summer go, because I'll really miss the flexibility of the kids' schedule, not to mention being able to stay up late and sleep in.
Getting up and out the door on time hasn't been one of my strengths, for sure. And the kids, even though they have their own alarms, never seem to get out of bed until I drag them out. Needless to say, we are always in a time crunch.
Knowing that breakfast is literally the most important meal of the day, I feel super guilty if the kids leave the house hungry. Since making a full on breakfast is out of the question time wise, I try to find healthier substitutions. Toaster pastries are fine once in a while, but I usually just steer clear of them.
Smoothies are one of my favorite ways to ensure my kids don't leave the house hungry and that they get nutrition first thing in the morning. I love that they are so versatile. There are so many combinations, I don't see how anyone could ever get bored with them!
I use fresh fruit whenever I can, but organic frozen fruit lasts much longer, eliminating a lot of waste.
