We are in mid-August, and everyone knows what that means….back to school.  Shockingly enough, most schools in my area have already started and are getting into the full swing of things.  Back to school wasn’t something on my mind until recently though, because my son was in full-time daycare and too young for school.  However this year is different, and he is starting a preschool program in just 2 short weeks! I am excited for him, yet sad too because my big boy is growing up.  Not only is he growing up, but I just had another baby (3 weeks ago!), and I feel like I can’t give Austin (our older son), as much attention as I’d like to.  I will be driving him to and from school which will be nice though, so I am excited for that.

One thing that is different about him going to preschool, is that we have to make his lunch and send it to school.  Up until this point they have served him lunch at school, and he has never been a big fan of that.  Austin is extremely picky when it comes to food, and I can definitely list on 2 hands the foods he will actually eat.  Having him in school, where we have to make and send his lunch, is actually a blessing, because he just wouldn’t eat all day at daycare.  Now I can send him with foods that he likes, and he won’t be starving when he gets home, which will be nice.  Something that he absolutely LOVES are the Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers, and I feel good about packing them because they are healthy and help him get the right amount of daily fruit.

I always find the lowest price at my local Walmart Super Center, so I typically pick these up while I am doing my weekly shopping.

Right now you can receive a free back to school photo offer from select Walmart Super Store Print Shops with purchase from August 1 – September 13 while supplies last. If they participate in the free back to school photo offer they will receive $1 off the purchase of (2) Del Monte 4-pack Fruit Cups or (2)Fruit Burst Squeezers (again offer is available from 8/1 to 9/13 while supplies last).

If you have a picky eater like me, then I am sure you know how valuable these Fruit Burst Squeezers can be when trying to balance a toddler’s diet! If my picky eater loves it, then I love it!

What are your go-to school lunch items? Do you have a picky eater? If so, what if the one food they cannot live without?!

Older kids and teens like this too especially for after school sports practice snack. Moms don’t bring snacks to school practices. The kids must bring that adn drinks with them except maybe water.
