The Best Homemade Playdough Recipe

DSC_0372

Over the years I have tried at least 10 homemade playdough recipes, and some have been big hits, and some have been big misses.  I feel like I have finally figured out the best recipe, and I am going to share it with you today. It is pretty easy, and involves ingredients that you likely have at home all the time (except maybe you don't have cream of tartar...maybe...).  This recipe is quick, yields a lot of playdough, and the playdough actually stays good for a long time.  This would work great as a class activity for kids, or as a home activity for kids.  It … [Read more...]

Spring is in the Air….World Market Edition

WM1

Or is it?  Spring is officially here, yet it's still freezing outside!  We are even predicted to have snow this week, and it's not like I live on the East Coast...I live in Atlanta!  Come on already Spring.....but, what better to put me in a spring-y mood than to browse the beautiful spring inspired items at World Market?  I love, love, love World Market (and no, they aren't paying me to say that), because they have such cute and interesting things...and their prices don't leave too big of a hole in your pocket.  I thought I would share with you some of the cute things … [Read more...]

Crock Pot Honey Sesame Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Honey Sesame Chicken

I pretty much love crock pot recipes because they are usually fairly easy and cheap.  They usually don't have too many ingredients, most you probably have on hand already.  This recipe is done in a pretty quick amount of time in crock pot terms, too- 3 to 4 hours.  When I made this last week, it left a really delightful smell in the house, and even being a vegetarian I was drooling looks at this.  The sauce looks really good, and I think it pairs perfectly with a nice crisp lettuce wrap.  You could also opt to serve this over rice, or in taco shells...I think there are … [Read more...]

Easy Baked Tofu

baked tofu 7

Even before I became a vegetarian, I loved tofu....especially when it's fried, crispy, covered in sauce and in Chinese food.  Who doesn't like that?  But, since learning to cook with it more, I have found different techniques to mock frying the tofu, and still being able to get a nice crispy outside, without all the bad points of frying.  In a different post I talked about 'dry frying' tofu, which is really handy and easy, but it can sometimes be time consuming.  So when I stumbled upon a baked tofu recipe on All Recipes, I thought I hit the jackpot.  With … [Read more...]
